EZRA THOMPSON completed his BFA at the Cooper Union in New York City where he studied with notable professors Hans Haacke and Dore Ashton. Under the tutelage of the late Dr. Hugh J. Silverman, his graduate project at Stony Brook University focused primarily on the Self-Portrait, Narcissism, and the Other.  He has served as a Curatorial Intern at the Whitney Museum of American Art and held a position as a Conservation Assistant at the Frick Collection’s Art Reference Library in New York City. Past these experiences in curation, conservation, and restoration, Ezra was also a Gallery Assistant at Lawrence Rubin Greenberg Van Doren Gallery (now called Van Doren Waxter). Formerly on 57th street and Fifth Avenue, the gallery was most notable for representing the estates of Richard Diebenkorn and Sam Francis.  Ezra was responsible for researching provenance, cataloging artwork, inventory maintenance, gallery installation, and client outreach; this included liaising with partner galleries, museum organizations, and auction houses. He has lived and worked in Berlin, Copenhagen and Tokyo. He is currently an Adjunct Lecturer at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York.
